Eucalyptus essential oil is one of the best selling essential oils in the world and a great one to keep on hand for a variety of uses. Its clean, fresh scent promotes a sense of well-being from the moment you open the bottle, but it doesn't stop there - Eucalyptus is considered exceptionally antiviral and antibacterial, making it a wonderful and effective addition to medicinal treatments as well as cleaning products.

Australian and Tasmanian indigenous tribes have used Eucalyptus as a traditional medicine for centuries, utilizing parts of the tree and leaves to reduce fever, fight infections and heal wounds. Native tribes have also used Eucalyptus to ward off insects by burning the leaves and wood - the earliest form of fumigation in history.

Today, Eucalyptus essential oil is used throughout the world for its ability to open up breathing and ease congestion, and is commonly added to steam rooms and saunas to clear the lungs. It is an effective addition to bath oils and massage oils to relieve muscle fatigue and stiffness, and its antibacterial properties make it useful for skincare.

These same antibacterial and anti-fungal properties in Eucalyptus essential oil make it a very effective ingredient in cleaning products, and it adds a deodorizing, woodsy, fresh scent. It also makes a wonderful, natural and safe addition to insect repellents.

Eucalyptus essential oil is an excellent addition to cosmetic applications, personal care formulations, soaps, insect repellent, perfumery, and aromatherapy.
