Quality Control

HBNO™ services include the offering of detailed analysis and examination of essential oils and other volatile oils using state of the art GCMS (Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry). The world of chemistry and essential oils are invariably intertwined and can be a difficult path to navigate.

Our team of highly qualified scientists can provide clients with a comprehensive GCMS readouts with specific constituents that comprise the sample type. In addition, our team can assist clients in the interpretation and explanation of these results in relation to the client’s intended usage, desire, or goal.

We source only from suppliers with whom we have a strong relationship with and have personally visited, audited, and trusted to be reliable. Raw material is subject to a thorough quality control inspection. The exact parameters of the test vary based on the given product.

Routinely these tests include compliance with the following:

  • Organoleptic assessment (odour, appearance, taste etc) as appropriate.
  • Visual evaluation (colour, clarity, foreign materials etc)
  • Solubility (usually in ethanol) & a full range of product specific tests.
  • Specific gravity (SG)
  • Optical rotation (OP)
  • Refractive index (RI)
