Lemon is indigenous to Southeast Asia, but in the second century was introduced to Greece, then Italy, where it quickly adapted to the Mediterranean climate. Lemon oil is now widely cultivated in Italy, Australia, and California. Christopher Columbus introduced the citrus to the New World in the late 1400s.
With its natural, fresh, bright scent Lemon essential oil is a great addition to DIY soaps and shampoos to remove excess oil from hair and skin and general impurities. Lemon essential oil is also used as an astringent, has a calming effect, and assists in brightening moods.
Aromatherapy is an ancient and time-honored tradition. Lemon essential oil contains high levels of vitamins, is popular in cleaning agents and colognes, and is a common aromatherapy essential oil. It is a high note with a fresh, bright, citrus aroma.
Lemon essential oil is a rare and treasured addition to cosmetic applications, personal care formulations, soaps, perfumery, incense, candles, and aromatherapy.
